36" door handle

Our 36" long door handles are handmade in the USA. We set aside the best of our white oak and walnut stock for these handles. A seven step, hand applied finishing process gives each handle a silky smooth finish that will last.
First, choose your configuration:
*Double handles are designed to install back-to-back (one on each side of a door). One handle will have an exposed screw head. Consider this the "interior" handle. The 5" long screw is installed through the interior handle, through a spacer, through your door, through the second spacer, and screws into the second handle. With the included screws, the double handles will fit door thicknesses ranging from 
1 3/8" to 1 5/8".  These are perfect for interior doors.

*Single handles are designed to install on one side of a door, much like a cabinet pull. They can be used on furniture pieces, as well as interior doors. The screw heads will only be visible on the back side of the door. Two lengths of screws are included with each "single" handle, which enable you to install the handle on door thicknesses ranging from 3/4" to 1.5". 

Second, choose your wood species:
*White oak is a very hard and durable wood species. Grain patterns will vary. Color ranges from amber to medium brown. 
*Walnut has more of a uniform grain pattern. Color ranges from milk chocolate to dark chocolate.

What you will receive:
Double handles-  you will receive two 36" wood handles, one with threaded inserts, one with through holes, four black spacers, two 5" stainless screws, one hex head wrench.
Single handles-   you will receive one 36" wood handle with threaded inserts, two black spacers, two 3" stainless screws, two 2.25" stainless screws, two stainless lock washers, one hex head wrench.

Installation:
The screw locations are approximately 24" center-to-center, but measure the spacing on your particular handle to confirm the exact measurement. Drill 5/16" diameter holes through your door at the appropriate locations. These holes will be slightly bigger than the screws, which will give you room for adjustment and will make the installation easier. Do not overtighten the screws when installing. If your handle will see heavy use, such as in a commercial setting, consider applying "thread lock" on the screw threads to avoid loosening.

Care:
Your handles are finished with several coats of wipe-on polyurethane. If you ever need to reapply finish, or just want to freshen up the appearance, simply give the handles a light sanding with 220 grit or higher sandpaper, and then wipe on a new coat of polyurethane with a clean rag. If you are applying multiple coats, smooth the finish in between coats with steel wool or a high grit sandpaper.
